heh...the theme looks just like the video would. is there no artwork at all for this game?

I agree, this would be a sweet game to make a theme out of if you could find some good artwork.

I think the theme looks good for the existing artwork. The artwork for this game is lacking overall. I think doing a .swf and make the stars around POWER flash would give it a little more polish.

I am not a fan of the marquee type wheel image. I personally copied the Artwork2 over and overwrote the wheel image and I think it looks much better that way.

Ya I just searched around, and it is really limited on artwork, I cant tell from the screenshot of this game but heres my take on using in game artwork. I think if its kept original looking then its ok but some people tend to take that artwork and resize it with the bicubic resampling options in photoshop which causes the artwork to blur out and not have that clean pixelated effect which then makes it look kinda crappy imo. Sometimes I will do the same thing only as a last resort when making a theme or whatever and in that case when blowing up the sprites I would use nearest neighbor to resize the image.

Why does everybody think that they absolutely *must* use artwork from the original game? As long as it fits I say it's all good.

Admittedly quite a few of these are probably not all that appropriate... this is just to give you ideas. Some could be edited a bit to create a cool looking theme that wasn't just a repeat of the video.

Don't underestimate the awesomeness of fan art. Quite frequently it's a lot better than any of your other options. (Where do you think I found the battle toads art?) :)

this game has that punchout feel, so i did what i could.

I wouldnt go and say everybody, alot of us here have used non game artwork to use in themes. Were not saying you must be its definitely better if its available, I dont use real game artwork for all my games, I improvise like you show in the images, but I really do exhaust all my efforts to get actual artwork if possible because its that artwork that best represents the game in a theme.

I found a picture of the awesome side art that came with this game but I'm trying to still find a better image thats actually traceable, I would much prefer to see that artwork more than anything else.
