View Full Version : BetaBrite Classic not working with 1.0

Hello Everyone,
I have a BetaBrite Classic hooked up to the PC using Serial to COM1. All tests (sending messages with other software) work correct and the port opens.

When trying to send tests and messages with HyperBrite, I get the following:

When I attempt to start HyperSpin I get:

Any ideas? I have tried all port options, and no dice. I know the display works, because I can push messages to it from other programs.

Ya last minute I had to remove classic support for a couple reasons, it will have to come out on a sub release soon. Sorry about that. I will let everyone know when Classic support is back in. For now though the Prism does work and works great.

Oh..no... I just mounted my betabrite CLASSIC sign in my cab and find out hyperbrite is broken for the classic. Crying hard here.

Pleeeez patch hyperbrite to work with betabrite CLASSIC soon.

Hi, just got 2 Betabrite classic to install on my HyperSpin, but didn't see this thread saying that it doesn't work anymore.

Is there a way to get the version that did work? or anything....

Updates would be appreciated.

The old script and program I wrote for 0.8.0.1 still works. However, it's not with the same style that HyperSpin currently has (IE: updates as you scroll through, only as you select a game and exit a game).

Lashek: Thank you so much for pointing this out.

I'm trying this out tomorrow, and will let you know of my results.

Btw I don't understand why the information on hyperbrite is not centralized anywhere for all who are interested to know what to expect before they commit to buy the hardware.

It would also be good to know once and for all if we should wait or forget Betabrite Classic of ever being supported natively in Hyperspin.

I think Bill fixed the BetaBrite Classic issues in 2.0, but I'm unsure.

Lashek: I'm about to start testing with your solution.

So far : betacom.exe works from the command line with the sign no problems

Just want to know about the ahk file editing you've mentionned in your post.

- Edit the ahk file, and then I need to compile it?

- Stupid question i'm guessing but how do you compile that file once you've edited it?

Will keep looking but if you can help it would go even faster.

Thank again Lashek for your work.

Working perfectly and was very easy to install.

Btw for me, having it send the info to the LED only when you enter a game is enough, and the fact that you can revert to a startup message when you exit is great.

If there ever is support in 2.0 I will try it, but if not this is great and working for me.
