Do i have to have no-intro rom names, because im having a hard time trying to rename and audit them all to the no-intro name instead of the good set, is there anyway to add roms to hyper spin without changing my rom names?

thanks.

there are programs that will do this: you can search the forums for dir2xml.

Or you can wait for Lashek to release the next version of HyperList that will scan your rom folder and create an XML database based on the contents.

The problem you're going to have then is that none of the themes/art (boxes) will match so you'll have to rename those instead. Either way everything has to match.

just wondering, how do YOU do it sopht? do you do it manually?or do you create an xml file based off what roms you have ? or do you change your rom names to match the given xml files? this seems to be a question that comes up very often. it would be nice to have a more clear cut idea of what to do and how. i have asked this question a couple times and still im not clear on the best route.

Thanks

Your ideal solution is going to be to have a no-intro set of roms. This is because all of the boxart/wheel images/videos are in no-intro format. So it is much easier to rename your one set of roms to no-intro if you have to, than having to rename all of your artwork/video sets to match whatever your roms are named.

The best way is to start out with a No-Intro set of roms. I specifically downloaded the No-Intro sets for use in HyperSpin, but I also keep my rom sets up to date on a monthly basis. I forced myself to learn how to use CLRMamePro and audit my roms after every update. Since I started doing that; I've never had rom naming issues.
