More info later.
BTW - I have a theme in mind, but I suck at artwork. If anyone would like to help out in the artwork department perhaps we can negotiate a price.

Pin-Sects (sounds like...) btw, I claim this one if you don't take it, and my cab will have a badass insect theme!
Finally got the case for the PC that will go inside the pincab.

That case works PERFECT for pin and mame cabs. I love 'em.
Quick question, did you have to "adjust" any of the holes in the bottom piece? I had two slots that were cut about 1/8" off (two of the 5-1/4" side pieces), and I had to take a jigsaw and widen it. No big deal, but it had me thinking that I was putting it together wrong for awhile there!

No big deal, but it had me thinking that I was putting it together wrong for awhile there!I didn't have to make any adjustments. Everything fit together perfectly. I am going to remove the base and cut a couple more holes so I can secure the case to the slide-out tray in my cab though. I'm just going to drill out a couple small holes, and run a bolt long enough to go through the acrylic and through the wood of the tray.
After seeing this one all setup; I really want to get another for my MAME cab. The only issue is that it doesn't hold enough hard drives.

Does you MAME cab have a RAID array or something? Just curious. My pin cab started with a RAID 0 array as the OS drive until I decided to go with an SSD.
I guess since these cases are designed for bench work, they didn't put in a ton of HD bay space.
I don't have a RAID setup, but I have 4tb of drive space using 4 hard drives. Plus another 1.5 tb USB drive that I use to transfer files between machines that are not on my network.
My pin cab only has a single 1.5tb drive and I'm thinking about getting a SSD for the OS.

1.5 TB for a pin cab is way overkill. Use that sucker for more arcade or home theatre stuff...or send it to me! :D
1.5 TB for a pin cab is way overkill. Use that sucker for more arcade or home theatre stuff...or send it to me! :DThe pin actually has a 1tb drive. The 1.5 went to my main computer. I recently upgraded all of my hard drives. They are all either 1tb, 1.5tb or 2tb drives... just depends on what the better deal. I've completely stopped buying anything less than 1tb and my old drives < 1tb have all died or been handed down to the kids for their computers.

Here's my new best friend:

It's a 5-bay Hardware RAID tower, I filled it with 2TB WD Green drives. I have had external towers like this but they had to run from a software RAID via an Esata card, but the software doesn't work well with 64bit OS and is slow. This has the RAID built into the tower and comes with a 6GB SATA card which screams.
I use it for all of my Windows Media Center content. 8TB RAID 5'ed, so a single drive can fail and no data loss. Sweet.
Nice i dont mind the look of them tech station cases.
My wife went on a picture taking spree since I hadn't been...

Dazz coming alone nicely. I noticed the lockdown bar your using looks like its been cut, did you make this yourself? No, it's a widebody NOS that I bought from pinball resource. Measures at 26in. I'm going to be sanding it down and painting it in the near future.

Made a little progress over the past couple days.
Looking sweet Dazz, Whats that thing next to the plunger? I cant really make it out.
Looking sweet Dazz, Whats that thing next to the plunger? I cant really make it out. It's an optical switch circuit that I made about 5 years ago for use on my MAME cab. This has been installed in my MAME cab up until now.
The switch is lined up with the reflective tip of the plunger with the rubber removed. The switch is wired to the circuit that you see below. It is then wire into a 5v and key input. The switch is focused on the tip of the plunger, when the plunger is pulled back it breaks the view of the switch, that engages the on screen plunger. Once the plunger goes back into position it triggers the ball hit.
I'm not sure if anyone here is using this method, but it works very well. The whole circuit can be made for less than $15 USD.

How did you go about fixing the backbox lcd onto the backbox?
How did you go about fixing the backbox lcd onto the backbox?I ended up decasing and running bolts through the corner holes into t-nuts on the back side of the wood. One of my reservations about mounting like this was that I was afraid that the t-nuts might eventually pull out of the wood. Securing them on the backside ensures that they will not ever pull out. It is very secure and will not even move the slightest.
Action shot - let the kids play a couple games on the table yesterday. After seeing the table in action; my wife is pushing me to get this done so she can start playing.

Cool, did you use glass in the backbox or just plexi-glass? Also what watts are those car speakers your using, and are u using a PC 2.1 speaker system and have just cut off the speakers and added the car speakers?
Looking nice Dazz love the backbox.

My speakers are being powered by a Logitech LS-21 2.1 speaker system connected to 5 1/4" car speakers.

That sounds great so where can I find the circuit please ???
Well, for the most part I am done... The picture below was taken a couple days ago. The flipper buttons are temporary as I am still waiting on my order of Electric Ice 2 with leaf switches and RGB LEDs for a month now. I got my screen borders today from the photo framing place. I installed my screen borders and they really change the look of everything. I was not able to get an updated photo with the borders installed. The 3 tilt-bobs are installed and configured. They work very well.
I'm still lacking a couple small things. Apron instruction cards, button labels for my HyperPin specific buttons and of course artwork. The DMD area is going to have artwork and will cover the t-nuts for the speakers. Unfortunately artwork is going to have to wait for a couple months until my wife finds a job and we get bills all caught up again. Other than that my cab has been playable for a couple days now. My wife and kids are all completely addicted already and love it. I currently have 90 VP tables all setup and running and still working on configuring HP tables.
I'm really glad that I can finally play pinball once again!
