The Theme Announcements forum is a place where you can announce and/or get feedback on a completed theme or theme in progress before you upload it for approval. Doing this can save headache for you if you need to make improvements or adjustments. It will also help speed up the approval process of your theme.

When posting a theme in this forum please name your thread the same name as your file using the HyperSpin theme naming convention, plus the actual name of the game, there is no need to include the zip extension.

For starters, please read through the repacking themes tutorial to familiarize yourself with the new layout and 7-zip settings: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/index.ph...=95&Itemid=105 (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/../index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=95&Itemid=105)

1) Naming Convention
gamename - romname - creator(YYYYMMDD).zip

There should be no spaces between the last letter of the gamename and the creator name. The newer release of HyperTheme will automatically produce two copies, one for local use, and one for uploading that will have this correct format. Names should not have any underscores ( _ ) in them and should only have one dash ( - ) between the game name and creator’s name. This is partly to make parsing directory lists doable in a simple scripting environment.
NOTE: for MAME games, the game name should ALWAYS be lower case

2) Contents

Themes may have the following files named exactly this way (capitalization and all, the new HyperTheme will do all of this for the creator):

Artwork1. (swf or png)
Artwork2. (swf or png)
Artwork3. (swf or png)
Artwork4. (swf or png)
Video.png
Background. (swf or png)
Particle.swf
Theme.xml
gamename.png
Info.txt

The file named gamename.png is a wheel image for the game. It is not drawn from the theme zip by HyperSpin but is merely placed in the theme so that it is available for users to put in their wheel art folder.
Not all themes will have all of these files but at the MINIMUM all themes MUST have the following files:

Background.(swf or png)
Theme.xml
Info.txt

Sound files or other extra files should be placed in a folder called Extras.

NOTE: If the theme is a System theme, there should be a text file named after the folder Box, Cart or Flyer art should be placed (example: if the box art goes in Artwork2, then the theme should include a file Artwork2-BoxArt.txt). If this is not present, please add it to the theme and rezip making sure to use the store method.

3) The Info.txt file contains very basic info to identify the theme creator even if the theme is added to the minted set. It contains two lines and looks like:
Code:
Theme Created By: creator
Date: MM-DD-YYYY
NOTE: The new HyperTheme automatically adds this file to the theme zip.

4) If you have to repack a theme to add contents, follow the repacking tutorial.

Always include a screenshot of your theme for others to see. 640 x 480 is a good size for a screenshot in the forum.

There should be no other threads posted in this forum that are not a work in progress or completed theme. Please direct all other artwork related questions to the graphics forum.

Thank you
