I keep trying to use stella for my atari 2600 but everytime you select a game it runs stella but opens the stella launcher and just sits there and doesn't run the game. Any ideas?

*edit*
Stella does not need Hyperlaunch. Configure your settings within stella.

You lost me. Am I missing something here as I have to configure my Atari 2600 wheel to use stella but when I set it up it just launches the stella rom launcher and not the rom itself. Explain to me what I need to do as I am confused. I am new to Hyperspin and have been using GameEx which it works like a charm for me but I really like the look of Hyperspin but if it's gonna be a pain for me to setup I'm gonna give up on it.
btw I am not using the Hyperlaunch option. And the other thing I noticed is that when you put in a param it puts it after the rom shouldn't it go right after the emulator and before the romname?
Could it be my romnames are different than what is in the xml

I just got the 2600 working myself, your info about not using the hyperlauncher option was helpful.
Try enabling the use full paths to roms option in your 2600 wheel settings. Also in Stella you can disable the rom launcher somewhere in the gui settings.
As for files names you can use clmamepro to audit the roms with the xml file, check these forums for usage.

Krackerman - what you can do is clone the Atari 5200 settings and rename it Atari 2600.
Set HyperLaunch to = false. Then configure the rest to your system.
Also make sure that when you open stella that it points right to your rom directory and you do not have to drill down to the correct folder.

Ok I got it working as it was my rom names are not the same as the xml is there an easy way to change them to the names that I have. Such as a way to auto generate the xml to the name of the roms in my rom directory.
Clrmamepro seems complicated to me, I just want to be able to have something scan my roms directory and create a xml so it will work with Hyperspin.
Thanks :)
I found XML Notepad 2007 I guess I could do it manually but seems like it will take a long time to do it this way.

I used fatmatch to rename mine, It looks like it got alot right out of the box too, but I was renaming to clmamepro names so it may not match as many, but it should get alot especially if you file names are close already.
I got my fatmatch from the emumovies website downloads section, I think another forum linked it as well but you needed an account to download.

I've got a Stella related problem aswell that i hope someone can help me with.
After re-installing my cab i decided to finaly get some more systems installed and one of them is a Atari2600 with stella.
I've got everything to work thus far except one minor problem, when you start a game with stella set to auto resolution, when you quit the game again without going into the stella menu's your hyperspin with have the same resolution as stella just ran with.
Is there a way around this problem? or will i have to go though the stella menu's every time i quit a atari2600 game?
