All emulators we have on the main wheel are working and configured, all you have to do is change your paths and make sure your databases are good.

Ok, well here it goes...

Fusion

08:04:50 PM | Excecutable is Fusion.exe
08:04:50 PM | Error: Cannont Find Executable: path = C:\Emulation\Emulators\Fusion\Fusion.exe
08:04:50 PM | Error: Cannont Find Rom File: D:\Emulation\Roms\Genesis\No Intro\Chaotix ~ Knuckles' Chaotix (Japan, USA).zip
08:04:50 PM | Returning to HyperSpin

If I cut and paste that first line in a CMD it brings up Fusion.

Untrue.

Project64 and Daphne

Project64 needs a certain version that most users do not have access to and Daphne you have to jump through all these hoops.

Mame needed a path fix that I have never had to use before.

I would not call them user errors.

Like Bill said, HyperLaunch will be out soon. I am hoping that this will take care of some of these "tricky" config issues.

How is it my fault some people are using out of date easily obtainable emulators?

How is it my fault daphne is a ***** to configure? Even with hyperlaunch it still needs to be configured a certian way.. Thats just because the emu requires so many parameters to run correctly.

Even tho you never had to use the -rp mame command switch before doesnt mean the fe isnt effiecent... (gameex happens to inject it automatically) Thats why it asks you the rom path. Mame dev put that command there for a reason and not anyones fault you never read the included mame documentation. Consequently now HS does as well... At least woth the config supplied in the earlier post.. Perhaps that should be the norm for all new builds of HS.

I undersatnd you want the FE to do all the work for you.. But it would be in your best interest to understand how these work.. This way you can create these "tricky" fixes also.

Cheers :)

First off, no one said anything is your fault.

Easily obtainable emulators would be going to said site and pressing download, that is not the case here and you know it.

Daphne does not need batch files in other front ends atleast not the ones I am using and Bill has already stated that Hyper Launch will fix a lot of these issues.

When I run Mame from a command line I don't have to use the -rp command when I configure it's ini file.

I understand HS is still a work in progress, I am just posting the issues I have ran into myself. Your milage may very...

Lol... ok ok... Ya got me.
Well not to split hairs but you can goto the official site aand get the latest version.. You do need to donate tho... And the donation page is back up.. I finally was able to get my own build from there.. Now hopefully they will update it.. The last official update is 1.7.49

Gameex fyi builds a batch file for you using the supplied paths and switches.. Kinda like editing you ini for mame.

Perhaps the readme.txt should include the version numbers of each emulators tested with hyperspin (probably a good idea through the wiki), but I highly doubt the availability of emulators or the configuration of them with their own idiosyncrasies should be looked on as a responsibility of the HyperSpin team. That may not have been your point or intent but the way your message was written, it sure can lead to that conclusion.

Well yes.. Perhaps it is a good idea to put version numbers of veried emus... However it doesnt mean new builds will have issues and may open the flood gates to questions like "why do I have to use an old version? you said it works with 55 but what about 67?"

Setting up emulators should be the responcabilty of the end users. We will aid but it should not be our primary focus.

However with that said, if the emualtor works outside of HS then it should work inside of it.

Daphne, Project N64, Fusion and Mame all work outside of HS.

Mame has now been fixed with the -rp command.

Daphne I have not even bother with since the original try but my loader for it works just fine.

Project N64 I need a newer version.

Fusion has exiting issues.

Helping out users is nice of all the mods here but I don't exspect it, espically when something is FREE.
