Guys,
Could someone who built the cab post dimensions for 37", 40", 42", 46" decased TVs with the model number. This would be a great resource for those who are in the planning stages like myself. Many Thanks.

Anyone else for 37" and 42"?

Can You please post pictures of the backside of your de-cased LCDs, so I can see how you placed the hardware on the back! That would be great!
Thanks!

mwong: 37" how close is it to "actual size?" I.e. how does everything look in scale to a real ball?
I have a large pin distr in my area who might have wider cabinets real cheap so I may want a 42"

i can speak to the 37" and actual ball size too.. I put an actual pinball on top of the screen and its maybe 1/16" smaller on the 37" than the real ball. pretty darn close. however i suspect a 42" might be dead on in size..

Well I don't have a real pinball for comparison but I was happy with what I saw on screen before I even got the LCD de-cased. I was very happy last weekend when I did the test fit and it fit like a glove. I guess it is safe to say 37" = 20.25" decased ;)
I didn't have the choice of a widebody cab for the price I paid but I'm sure if I looked longer I probably would have found one. I am happy either way and can't wait till tomorrow when I get the rest of my parts to complete my cab so I can play all these amazing tables that have been released in the last 2 weeks.

Is anyone using a 47"? If so can you post the decased sizing? I've got an Atari Wide body coming, and I'm pretty sure it will fit a 47", just want to be sure before I throw the 47" in as an option.
Thank you.

Why do you guys want to go so big? a 47" TV screen is much bigger than a real pinball machine. I am happy with my 40", and wouldn't want any larger than 42"

Hey Rawd,
I'm going to be using an Atari widebody which is a big cabinet so anything less then a 46" would probably look funny in there. I don't want to go any bigger then a 47" for the reasons you state, but the 47" will open more possibilities for me when it comes to finding an open box / refurbed / discounted TV. LG and Visio for example put out quite a few 47" models.

A decased LG 47" 47LD450 is 43 3/16 x 25 3/16. These dimensions may be close for a Vizio 47" decased as well, I understand they use an LG panel in them.
I'll be decasing a Samsung 32" LCD as well, and if I remember correctly it had a width of 29".

I guess it depends on your definition of 'funny' :) My cab is about the width of an Atari widebody, and I have a 40" in there.
I built my cabinet before anyone had thought of decasing their TV's. Looking back, I wish I had, to eliminate the 2 1/2" black border. It is really not a big deal for me, but I am jealous when I see the bezel-less cabinets. Either way, I still think that 46" is too big. But that's just me. :)

To me the size of the TV does not matter! What matters is that it fits your cabinet without too much gap. I have a 37 inch and it fits my cab perfect because I built it to match... I or no-one else has ever complained about it being too small.. It looks great in my opinion. Whether you mount the Tv on top of the cabinet or inside has different advantages... Chris' for example looks great because there is no border... on the other hand i love how mine is seated deep in the cabinet at the actual playfield level...behind the glass it really makes you have a second look before you realise its a screen.
:) What ever floats your boat right?

spot on ,I have built many pin cabs now, 5 in total so far, each time I varied the design
next time I am planning to go 3 monitor setup and either 40 inch or 42 inch for pf, 27 inch for bg and 18.5 for DMD, really looking forward to the next build project.
but I Have a 32 inch pf at my shop and a 37 inch pf at home, to me they all play great

bossgp, what are the actual dimensions of the 32? i'm thinking of doing a small scale cab to get my feet wet... probably sell it to finance a full size cab.
i have this damn pinball wizard lockdown and no use for it. a 32 might be the right size.

so a 37" decased is 20 and 1/4 " wide eh?
Thats great news for me. Im using a non-widebody Williams 'taxi' cabinet and its exactly 20 and 1/2" between the insides of the sides.
20 and 1/4 would be perfect giving me maximum length possible.
mwong168 is yours a real non-widebody cab?
Your picture gives me hope I can fit a decased 37 in there!!

A 40" decased Sharp LED fits perfect on a standard size cab, but you have to cut down the sides, just as Chriz99 did on his cab.

*Bump* on the length of a 37" tv. Getting measurements of the cabinet now and want to reduce bezel as much as I can, hence the need to know what the length is.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Decased TCL LE46FHDP21TA 46" LED
42-3/8" x 24-15/16" x 13/16"
Note, this is very thin, but too wide to fit a standard "widebody" cabinet or lockdown bar.

Anyone ever get the total dimensions for a decased 32"? I'm guessing 16 1/2" by 28 1/2"? Can anyone verify that?
Thanks!

Toshiba 46" LED 46SL412U = 41 1/2" Long x 24 1/8 Wide

32" LED Samsung un32c4000 decased is roughly 16 15/16" x 28 15/16" x 1 1/8". The 1 1/8" depth is with the control boards mounted on the back.
Funny I had to reference this thread tonight to find out the width of my own tv that is currently not decased :)
