Tried to download this damn program. ON brand spankin fresh install of XP nothing else was downloaded and after going through the 10 diferent hyperspin site clicks to finally start downloading about halfway through I keep getting antivirus warnings say I need to install XP defender antivirus and now I cant even get it to stop poping up on my screen and now I have about 7 desktop icons all over my desktop. This all happened with no other clicks other than want I needed to download hyperspin. I kow that it may not be hyperspins and whomever is associated fault directly but the need to know whos hosting thier downloads! All this happed before I even made it to 50% download. Good luck downloading this abd yes im sure some of you are going to say that you had no trouble downloading but this happened to me and I do know what im doing.
Honestly, this sounds like an issue with your install of XP. It sounds like you may be running a "lite" version of XP that may be missing some services.

Sounds like some fake antivirus malware...
You definitely did not click on the correct link. It takes 5 clicks to download hyperspin (6 if you count clicking on the download button as well) and it does not include going to any other sites. What you just described is a trojan virus you have been infected with, and it certainly didn't come from this site, so you had to have clicked on something incorrectly.

Download malwarebytes from www.malwarebytes.org
Install it, update it, and scan. It will get rid of it. I'm actually the trainer for a Service Desk and we get calls about this virus all the time.

All this happed before I even made it to 50% download
The fact that this happened before it was even downloaded proves that it couldn't have been from here.

Well alright. Your replies were non flaming and informative. My apoligies for going off but please understand I was HONESTLY ready to pick up my computer and smash it through the floor into the sublevels of hell!!! OK well I just went ahead and reinstall windows on a newly formatted drive. This is not a lite version in fact it is a legal commercial key version that has been installed on other computers. I am pretty good at knowing which buttons to press on site im on but no matter im over it now so lets move on. Before I do try and download again I would like to ask a question first to see if it even warrents me to download. I am looking for a Mame frontend that can use just a trackball and a few buttons to choose games(no joystick) Im was thinking of adding a computer to emulate a few trackball controlled games to my custom built golden tee unplugged cabinet. Thanks for understanding :)

Hyperspin should work just fine for that. If you only have 2 buttons then you won't have enough buttons to use some of the more advanced features (favorites, genres, etc) but if all you want to do is be able to scroll through a bunch of games, have it look really cool, and select one to play then Hyperspin is the way to go. If you have more than 2 buttons then you'll be able to assign some of them to favorites etc, and Hyperspin is still the way to go. :)
I haven't played with the trackball option yet to be honest but it's there and I presume it works fine.

Oh and I never said the virus was from here but that in the process of downloading it I got it. I did'nt think that the file was even hosted here. I am pretty sure that I never hit any wrong buttons it just SEEMED that sitting idle at the site that was hosting it while I was downloading it caused this to happen. Believe me! I could be wrong.

Are you saying that the trackball will spin the game selection wheel since I have no joysticks? I do have 7 buttons and the trackball(three on one side and four on right).
Yes, you can use the trackball to select games within HyperSpin.
The fact that you had not even downloaded hyperspin yet meant i had nothing to do with the download.. 10 clicks to get to hyperspin download is a lot. Sounds like you could have been redirected somewhere. i tested it just now took me abou 8 clicks and the only other website i hit was megaupload. so unless they infected you i have no idea how you got it..
If thats really all you did then i would check your network. Maybe you have a badly infected pc on your network spamming trying to infect other machines. Also if your connecting to someone else wireless network you would have no idea what they have running on there network. Just throwing out some ideas.
No way it could have anything to do with this website or the download.

When I said 10 was exaggerating I am not really sure how many because I was not actually counting at the time. I am on my own internal network with fully protected PC(although I know that doesnt mean much) and like I said I am not blaming this site or the actual download. Just please try and understand my fustration on what happened and lets move on. So far this forum has been great so I will give it another go tomorrow thanks to everyone for the help. I will post my results then unless I am at the hospital having the computer removed from my foot. Just kidding :)

Thanks Dazz. I am excited to try it out. Just need to find a way to have the controls switch over from Golden Tee to the emulator. Was thinking 1 or 2 DPDT relays.

You are refering to the link that takes you to the Megaupload. Yes, this is known to happen with that site. What you do is, the very second that HS starts to download close all your browser windows except for the HS download.

I will be moving this to local download since were on a high end server now. Theres no need to host it on megaupload anymore. I'll probably just combine the latest HS in with the download so there will be no need to upgrade right away.

I am having different issues but I felt the same way. Hopefully you figure it out. If you have a different computer you could dload it to that and copy it to the other system.

Yeah Lemoncade I actually did that just before I read your post thinking the same thing. So I am downloading it now and cant wait to try it out. That is of course I dont fall asleep at the key board from having to reload windows till 3 in morningggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg.
