BBB,

I remember during beta testing that you posted a link to the particle engine that had an applet that could be used to try different effects. I forgot to tag it and can't find it here in these forums. Please can you remind me? I'm trying to use engine for the Rolling thunder 2 theme, but am having difficulties figuring out the params...

Thanks for that... I don't think using particle is ideal for scrolling an image (1024x200) across the screen and wrapping it to look as if its a moving video.

I really could do with a new Animation type (maybe called Film). Chase and Sweep Right/Left are close to what I need, but they do the animation and then comes to a rest. If there was a chase left or right that continually loops, it would do the trick. Would this be too much to include at some point?

How many times on the screen do you need to see the image, like leave the screen then come back in from the starting point?

Basically the same image needs to continually loop from left to right (no pause).

If I could make the image double the width of the screen and it just shifted left/right for one screen width, it would look as if it's continually scrolling (it has to be double width due to empty pixels on the end moving).

The other option is for me to learn how to create swf. I've downloaded a trial of Flash MX, but it looks very involved. I see that the simpson's theme has scrolling clouds for instance. It's this type of effect, but with film that I'm trying to produce.

I've attached the 1024x198 film image. It was recommended by someone that it would look neat if it was scrolling left/right in Rolling Thunder 2 and I agree..

I hope this makes sense.

Good idea, I have a new release coming tomorrow, I might be able to squeeze that animation in, but it wouldnt be in HyperTheme, so youd have to use some other animation and just make an edit to the xml entry.

Ok great. No problem it not being in HyperTheme. I'm finding I have to do a lot of edits after anyway. For instance, I'm sure someone has reporting the rotate (r) parameter isn't written out in the XML for all artworks... :-)

Cool if you can introduce.. Thanks for your efforts...

Ya I know about the rotate bug, I'll try to get the animatin in for ya.

Bill, this is the animation that I was talking to you about doing in chat the other day. I tried everything that I could to get this working via the particle system, but couldn't get it working right. I could not get it to look like it was one single image continually scrolling across the bottom of the screen.

Dazz, snap.. The particle system randomly starts a particle. Hence why it couldn't be relied on. Great minds think alike. Well, it was probably your idea.. I assume you made the original RT2 comment.. :-)

I too think it would be good. I've now positioned the female to lean on the video window and have more the namco text to the top left. Looks a lot better. If BBB can (he might not) get this film animation out then it will complete the theme. I'm sure others will want to use the same animation technique...
