thought I would start all over with a fresh Visual Pinball and make sure everything is right. I uninstalled the old VP. I think it was version 9.0.2. Also removed the files in the registry.

now I did the following, someone please correct me if I did this wrong.

1. installed the VPInstaller_1_0_3.exe (VP9 + vpinmame)
2. Copied vPinMAME.dll from vpinmame_22.zip to the VPinMame folder in my Visual Pinball folder and replaced the file
3. Copied the VPinball907.exe to the Visual Pinball folder
4. deleted VPinball9.0.2.exe
5. renamed Vpinball.exe to Vpinball_old.exe
6. renamed Vpinball907.exe to Vpinball.exe

and it works and its nice etc. BUT the ball gets stuck. Fx. if the ball goes down a metal ramp and has to go through a hole it makes a sound as if its bouncing around in the hole real fast and doesnt drop down. If I run Visual Pinball with the Vpinball_old.exe it doesnt happen, so I think its a problem with the new build (vpinball907)??

anyone know why this is happening?

It sounds to me like you are trying to load a visual pinball 8.x table into visual pinball 9.x. FYI, VP9 is not compatible with VP8 tables.

hmm, yea that makes sense. Is there a way to see if its a VP8 table? I downloaded these about a year ago.

might as well just redownload the tables to be on the safe side :top:

The VP9 tables are usually identified as such. USUALLY (not always) any new table out out after Jan 09 is usually a VP9 table, but not always.

An alternative is to just keep VP8 exe in your VP folder and use it for VP8 tables and VP907 for VP9 tables. vpforums can fill you in for the table versions.

thread revival.... I got a new problem thats starting to annoy me.

after installing vp907 in my HS setup. Everytime I launch a table you can se the whole visual pinball editor while it loads the table?

and when the table is loaded the dmd is in the background. it really destroys the experience that you cant see the score or minigames as you play.

anyone know whats wrong?

I have the stock settings in the .ahk, and this wasnt a problem with visual pinball 8

^ run VP in NT compatibility mode so the table loads over/ontop of the editor.

sp3ctr3 i've noticed the same thing, it also has a nasty habit of bringing up my taskbar. Sorry fastshark, NT compat mode didn't help :(

sp3ctr3, have you tried going into pinmame setup, and seeing what the default display device is? If its set to anything other than default, try changing it.
