mame problem with arcade sticks and buttonsw

hi guys, i've run into a problem with mame, i have just fitted my sanwa sticks and buttons into my cab and a minipac but when i play some games like killer instinct the sticks and buttons stop responding after a few minutes, i can play for ages on games like streetfighter III with no problems, i've tried different settings in mame but nothing seems to help,
i don't have this problem with my old playstation pad, could this be a minipac problem?
this is my first build so if anyone has any advice for me that would be great :)
i'm on windows7 64 by the way.

i'm not sure what you mean sopht, i have not set up any shifted keys yet if thats what you mean? i have changed the default settings on the minipac to

p1 up = arrow up
p1 right = arrow right
p1 left = arrow left
p1 down = arrow down

1sw1 = A
1sw2 = S
1sw3 = D
1sw4 = Z
1sw5 = X
1sw6 = C

1strt = 1
1coin = 5
i did this for use with other emulators and i've not set up p2 yet.:)

i've tested my joysticks and buttons on xp now and it seems to work ok, i guess it must be a windows7 thing unless something is conflicting with the minipac on win7.
looks like its back to good old xp then.
