Pinball Action

http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/6137/pinballaction640x480gc8.jpg

The pinball chases back and forth across the screen.

I'm not too sure about the background, I grabbed those colour shapes from the flyer.

Not really happy with video border, will have to play around with more colour options.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yeah, I think the background is too much loaded and is making some visual confusion.

Anyway, good begening.

Try smart blur on the ball, 1-3 pixels, might make it look cleaner.

Didn't seem to make any difference.

I'll play around with some different effects but I'm thinking about scrapping that background.

looks good...ball needs a little more punch...might just need some more black level or an unsharp mask or both.

Made some changes:

Added filter to background (still not sure about this).

Changed pinball and added lens flare.

Moved artwork down the bottom around so not covered up as much by game details and added a shadow so doesn't blend into background as much.

Opinions needed.

I really like this theme! The lens flare really adds a feeling of 3 dimensions to it. Your newest revision greatly improved the artwork grouping. Solid work all around.

I think the logo's shadow have to be darkened.

I think the pinball looks too blury too.

Anyway, great theme, professional work, as usual with you RB.

I think your right there.

Man it's hard to find a decent pic of pinball ball on the net, most of them have reflections in them, some even of the dude taking the picture.

I'll mess around with ball a little bit, but I think it wont matter too much as I have it chasing pretty quick, it actually took me three attempts at my snapshot to even get the ball in the picture. I think I might slow it down slightly.

Thanks for the feedback mate, it always helps to get someones elses view, my family is no help, they just laugh at me and call me a geek. :bawling:

Same here !

If you come to France someday, come to my house, we'll speak and drink some beers between geeks.

Question : Where did you learn to use Photoshop ? Is it your job ?

Would love to.

I'm just self taught, I first used it to stick peoples heads on other peoples head for a bit of a laugh, e.g. I put a friends head on a bloke who who was having sex with another bloke.

I do get to use Photoshop for work now and again, the boss knows I'm okay with it and he gets me do posters and flyers for the hotel I work for, but I would only do maybe six a year.

Made more changes:

Removed blur from ball.

Darkened shadow on logo and matched shadow colour and look to lower artwork.

I think the very first pinball you had was the best out of the 3, maybe I can try to work some magic on it. If you want send it my way.

Honestly, I don't think the realistic pinball will ever look good on a more cartoony theme. I would suggest doing something with the balls in the logo instead of worrying about the realistic looking ball.

Thanks for the offer Bill but first I'll try Dazz's idea, do you think this looks better?

I can tell you blew it up, send me the ball and I can trace it in illustrator real quick so it looks super clean. But that might be because the screenshot.

No problems Bill, I'm at work at the moment, I'll send you the pic when I get home.

Many thanks.

I think that fits the theme much better than the realistic ball you had previously. It does need to be cleaned up a little, but other than that I think it looks good.

I own a real pinball machine.

I also own a pinny, I got an Indiana Jones Pinball Adventure, what's yours?

I thought about taking a picture but my digital camera can't focus up close so I didn't bother.

I think I will go with the cartoony look at the moment, thanks for the offer though.

Agreed this look fits in better, should like nice once Bill has cleaned it up, having said that, I have the ball moving across the screen quite quickly so you will need a good eye I think to notice any alterations.

Bill was kind enough to trace the ball for me, very impressive work, I also used it for the three balls in the logo.
