OMG I feel so crippled right now. Yesterday night I had a second glass of rose (ran out of beer) and nicked it over my mouse & wacom tablet (huge mistake) And now only the back of the pen works & the mouse died out entirely....

So no more photoshop stuff from me in the near future.

I'm so frustrated right now...... just had to let it out.

That sucks. If you lived in the states you could probably find a lawyer who would sue Adobe and the wine company for not putting labels warning against drinking while Photoshoping. :hmmmm:
If you're lucky maybe you just need a new pen and not a whole new tablet.

I put the pen in a glass filled with rise. Hopefully it draws the liquid that is still in the tip. It might work again... it might. The back-end can still be used, but the side buttons & front tip don't respond to anything.

The mouse is not related, so hopefully just a new mouse & maybe a new pen.

I must add, I dried em off immediately & they continued working for a few hours. They just didn't respond anymore when I woke up..... good morning to me

Hope won't cost you too much to replace that.

By the way, are tablets a good deal ?
Didn't try any, i often want to take the plunge but not sure about the learning curve and if it is so much of an improvement for non-professional drawing.

It takes a little getting use too, but after that you won't ever use a mouse in any program like photoshop ever again.

They can get a little pricey the larger the surface on the tablet/resolution/etc. but with a decent one you can get very far.

I'm a fairly poor student, so no fancy stuff for me either. Lost the pen of my Wacom graphire 2 tablet while moving to another apartment. Then went on to a Wacom bamboo. I'd suggest to go for the last one as it is 'cheap' and good to work with.

Over here a bamboo tablet cost about 70-90 euros. But wacom tablet can reach prices up to a few hundred euros and above a thousand you get a touchscreen in stead of a responsive plate.

(seems like I will be replacing the pen for my bamboo...... costs about half the price of an entire new tablet if you include delivery fees :banghead:)

(that's 40 euros thrown away on a 4euro/bottle glas of wine I didn't even get to drink :banghead:)

warning against drinking while Photoshoping.

You can photoshop without drinking? Didn't know that was possible...

Isn't the bamboo just the low-line made by wacom?

Yup, but it's good enough for me. Hell if you're used to using a mouse it is magical. I just don't have a few hundred bucks to spent on it. Maybe if I ever finish my education & I need one for my job.

Photoshopping without drinking (or similar)...... desperate times.

I usually drink gin while photoshopping. If I spill, its more like rubbing alcohol, which is good for cleaning electronics.

Beats my (Dutch, Grolsch, Heineken is by far not the best dutch beer around) beer, though a Single Malt whiskey from time to time is also nice. :stoned:

heh I'm usually stuck with a 青岛 (qing dao)or tsingtao (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsingtao_beer#Beer_styles) I guess it's called in the West. 3.1% Alcohol content... but it only costs me 3Y for a 1.5L bottle (~50 cents). Cheaper than water actually.

HAHA, I was about to buy a new pen only when I decided to pull the pen out of that glass of rise one last time to test it. And it works flawlessly again. :dancing2:

So THK is back in the game!
