Yes, How big do you guys think Hyperspin is going to get WITHOUT the emulators and roms when its all finished? (if ever)
How much space in the hard drive is Hyperspin going to utilize?
Do you guys think it would go over 500 GB?

I don't think it will go over 500gb but then it really depends on what your going to put in it. I know like the EVERY Mame CHD, Dreamcast, Sega CD, 3DO and PlayStation image are pretty huge. Minimum 700megs - 10gb images each.

Dont thin it will be that big, The videos might top off at 100 GB maybe, thats the main reason HS is so big, without video, Im guessing a 5 GB's maybe assuming theres several thousand themes and boxart packs.

Then, should I go and get a 320GB HD for 69.99 (palm size) or get the 500GB IBOOK for 109?

You can get a 320 laptop drive for 69.99, where? I will by a couple in that case.
320 will be fine if your not running dreamcast, ps1 sets

I live in San Diego and I drive a lot around the area, Target is discontinuing they 320 Portable HDs and they are selling them for 69 dollars.

I will probably buy a 500GB one. I just check Frys Electronics and they are going for 99 Bucks

Then, I will probably wait, they go for 159 (Buffalo Brand)
and Freeagent for 149, Frys also has one 1.5 TB for 279 and a 2TB for 369.

I am using a 750Gb drives. I believe I will end up using two once my cab is completed. Try Newegg.com, internal 500GB are going as low as 65$ (external 80$) shipped. Internal 750GB are going as low as 100$ (external 116$) shipped.

I can't help but think the correct answer is Hyperspin will be Huge, it will rule the world, all other FE's will pale in comparison... but I guess I am reading the title wrong or something...

FYI... You can never have too much HD space and my Emu collection is growing fast. I am looking at a TB drive to back stuff up as I would hate to lose it.
ps. A solid state drive you be like a HD that only uses memory, like a thumb drive on a much larger scale.

that was funny Billpa, love those Terminator series too. I think I would not be doing PS1 games, Dreamcast or Saturn because too me, some of those games where great, but not classics. I will be happy with Mame and Nes.

dreamcast us set take up 100gb compressed. Ps1 about 325 gigs compressed for all Us releases anyway. If you had 2TB's should be good for everything.
