Hello all, long time listener first time caller. I'm attempting to setup VBA in Hyperspin. I have done all of the setup outside of HS, like setting up rom paths and save paths and choosing a screen resolution. When running VBA on its own, my roms open fine, a battery save loads fine, and I can save again. The next time I open that rom, the battery save loads again, and I am at the place I previously saved.

However, when running VBA inside of HS, The battery save loads like normal, and I save and quit, yet when I boot the game up again, my previous save didn't "stick"...even though it once again says "battery loaded" when I start.

Basically, when in Hyperspin, my battery saves are being found and are loading, they just aren't saving again when I exit.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

that's because you're using hyperlaunch to launch/exit the emulator- which is essentially the same as pressing alt+f4. change the launch method to "normal" in hyperHQ

Great! That fixed the saving issue. However, it presented another: Now, to exit VBA, I have to press esc, and then choose file exit to get back to HyperSpin. Any way around that?

Thanks again,
Josh

So I found something new out, after going back to launching VBA with hyperlaunch. If, after performing a battering save, you let the emulator stay running for a few extra seconds, the save will then "stick". It must have been an issue of when the game says the save is completed, the emulator was still writing to the specific file.

Glad I got that figured out.
