I guess everyone has thought of this, but its been a pretty cool part of my cab build so I thought I would share it.

I wanted to give my cab access to my home network, but due to the location of it I couldnt use wireless.

I didnt want anymore wires than 1 mains wire comming out of the cab, so i plugged a network over household mains wiring adaptor into the anti surge strip connector thats inside the cab.

Now it has full internet access ,and i can ftp new games into it over the mains wiring.

Hope this might help someone....

I have patch ports all over my house so for me it was slightly different. I ended up mounting a ethernet wall plate on the back of mine and punched down one end and crimped the other end to plug into the pc running hyperspin. Worked well and looked great. Put a bit of hot glue on the punched down end in case i pulled on the cable if i was doing maintenance on the machine.

yea i have a surge protector with a nic built into it.
i have them all over my house rather than running cat5/6.
its perfect for xbmc too, so you can stream your media from a computer.
