Looking great guys...
Is the downloads link active yet? I click on it and get an access error.
Also, is "Main Forum" a general discussion forum?
avatars????

Avatars are working now and we need to give members acces to the downloads.
:)
I may be able to... My rights are still being tweaked in as well
The ability to have an avatar, profile pictures, signatures, customized profiles (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/member.php?u=2) and even Photo Albums (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/album.php?albumid=1) are all based on donations. Since each additional item requires more disk space/bandwidth and additional database queries, the more a person donates the greater their functionality increases. Avatars & signatures begin at Bronze level with a minimum $5 donation. Profile Pictures, customizable are on the silver level and Photo Albums on the Gold level.
Also, the number of files a person can download per day increase per level as well as the time limit a person must wait before downloads. 180 seconds (3 minutes) for non-supporting members, 30 second for Bronze, 15 sec for Silver and 5 sec for Gold.
I know that Bill isn't in this for money, but the new forum software was about $200 that Bill spent from his own pocket. The drive space that will eventually be required and the bandwidth to run this project will increase as the project grows. Bill will need help via donations to seriously keep the site up and running as more and more people download themes...
I have given Scrapple and PaulStevens the HS Team Member status, so you guys should be able to add all of the above now as well as access downloads. The downloads section is currently hidden and restricted to specific user groups until we go to open beta and release.

Dont forget to mention that it is not necessary to donate to recieve the top privilages on the site. If anyone becomes a HS team member they automatically get those privilages. What does it take to be on the HS team? If you make themes that we want to include in the official themes section. If you somehow contribute to the project in a unique way. A couple guys got in by doing sets of much needed wheel images. There are lots of ways to contribute here so please chip in if you feel you can, even if its learning how HS works and helping people in the forum. So donations arent necessary but much appreciated and we also very much appreciate people who contribute to the project in any way possible.

What do you get access to if you donate now or is it best to wait for release?
A shiney gold badge will be nice

I actually do not want to encourage donating until you have at least tried it. It would be a shame to donate and find out that the FE doesnt suit your needs, not to mention that since its still beta there are some features missing that other FE's currently have.
On the other hand donating to gold level changes your profile status which in turn does give you access to the download section even though you arent considered a beta tester. Again this is not my recomendation and I'm trying to get to open beta as fast as I can so that people don't have to donate unless they like it and want to contribute to the project. So its your decision...
Thanks.

It's just getting sweeter all the time. I saw the latest version all dialed in with wheel images, box art, mame themes and all. Very sweet and smooth. And hypertheme is simply amazing. BBB says it'll be a few more weeks (BBB correct me if I'm wrong) but please please please don't rush him!
And BBB please don't feel rushed. It's very close. It will all be worth the wait.
There were some folks at Extreme who got to see it. They can attest to how nice it looks.
