Ok finnally the 2D box art is finished including a total of about 2000 box images.
I have also been inspired by Fifou's disk image he showed me so i have a made a set of 2000 Disk images using the Entire box front as the label so you have an alternative to a box or you can use both. The disks come in a mixture of 4 colors. The uploaded images are a lot bigger in size but if you want them smaller you can batch resize them in photoshop to whatever you like.

These will be uploaded to the upload section tonight so keep checking.
I will eventually put a text file of the missing images with the Artwork so feel free to add too them or send them too me to add.
Thanks to HOL, Exotica, and Atari Legends and Fifou for the idea.

Nice work! Although I would prever the original disks, so that you can show both the box and the disk in HS.http://hol.abime.net/pic_preview/diskscan/0301-0400/379_disk1.jpg
Most are available at HOL, although watermarked, but I bet you could find them without it if you search a bit.

Yeah totally agree blazer, these are just an alternative to the Box scan but they do still look good being shown together. I have the disk off screen slightly so u dont see all the artwork, its just impposible to get all the real disk images otherwise its redrawing text for every disk which will just kill me. maybe one day i'll try it. This just guarantees there is a corresponding disk to every Box.
Fifou i will up the templates with the disk images they will be in the same folder. Feel free to alter them i did make them rather quick (they perhaps need a shawdow adding) i also have the templates for the labels if you want to play around with them.

Yeah Fifou i thought it was agreat idea but instead of just doing part of the box i set up a batch process to do the whole box all at once so it was a little easier.
hope you dont think i stole from you, i just thought i could help you out as i was already doing the boxes anyway
Again thanks for the idea and feel free to alter em or redo some, i have each disk in all colors so if you want to change any disk colors let me know n i'll upload em.

No no no : I wasn't thinking about that - when I did the disk template to replace box art I wasn't sure of the result and the popularity of my idea - maybe the disk was taking too much place for some Amiga fans who prefer to see the box art at full size.
Thx again for all your hard work on the Amiga box arts !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Fantastic work ripsnort, thanks a lot! Awesome job, and great job you're doing with the wheels as well.
But I'm curious about what set did you use for these, I thought it was for the latest KG whdload set and since you say it's complete I just ran a name check against my killer gorilla whdload set and there's still around 700 boxes missing. Even considering a lot of them are CD32/CDTV versions of games that I think you didn't include and there's some multiple versions of the same game, that only one of them needs a box of course, there's still quite some games missing box art.
There's also a few boxes which names doesn't match any on kg whdload packs.
I can do you a more comprehensive list if you are interested.

Hi brolly glad you like em, yes it says complete but there a lot of games in the KG set that were never released with boxes or just PD, there are also some i just cannot find, i will be putting wanted list on the ftp of all missing artwork as you say there is still quite alot about 400 i think, if you can find any please let me know as i have been through my list quite a few times. Everything is based on the KG set with some extra wheels thrown in for gamebase. these obviously are not available on the whdload yet. so if you want to use them just rename to whatever you want.

thanks for the info. I will try searching for some then, but if you couldn't find them I guess I won't get too lucky as well :)
I suppose everything that's missing and says CD32 or CDTV on the name I should just ignore right?

hi yeah for now just ignore the cd32 and cdtv i just put the roms in a seperate folder and created a games list without them in, i will put that on ftp aswell but Fifou is doing a full list with name year etc. i also have to amend the whdload xlm as there are some games that do not run, there is an updated version of this on the ftp with the wheels but stll loads to do. Hopefully one day we can get the cdtv and cd32 games running all together.

I made my complete list already with year / manufacturer / genre .... it seems that I forgot to upload it ..... sorry !

08-09-2010, 01:04 PM
could you upload that list please fifou?
Also when you say the games don't work I guess you mean through winuaeloader with the default setup right? I know I got that xml file you made off the ftp at some point, but I was looking for it again and have no clue where it's placed lol
fifou

I still have to update it : for the "gamebase" ones (floppy games) I made an ini file and I have to update the params for these (about 30 games ...)
see ya soon

Fifou could you upload the xml you have created for your whd games list please with added details.
Brolly the xml config file for winuaeloader is in the wheels section. yes this is for default load settings for winuae loader and winuae, for some reason there is not all games and some just dont run so i have made a basic config to replace any non runners. If its just a case of a different language missing then i can normally get away with copying the config and changing the rom version. Also many of the rom files have been updated to 1.1 and the config still lists 1.0 so they are not recognised and wont run.
Good to hear from you Fifou c ya back in the wheel thread heh heh

Hi guys, I can't find the Amiga disk images on the FTP? am I understanding it wrong? I am imagining an actual amiga disk with an image on it, is that correct? I have your 3D boxes which are amazing and would love to have some disks to add to the default theme :)
