I didnt know there was a rev10 out. This version is really good, has 3 in 1 for u to select:

full blow xp sp3 install up to feb 2010
tinyxp install, with only major drivers and progs installed
microxp, only takes up 256mb of disk space.

    Full XP
    - Hard Disk Space Used = 1.19Gb
    - RAM Usage = 81.7Mb
    - Services Started = 38

    TinyXP Rev10
    - Hard Disk Space Used = 833Mb
    - RAM Usage = 60.3Mb
    - Services Started = 20

    MicroXP v0.84
    - Hard Disk Space Used = 221Mb
    - RAM Usage = 42.4Mb
    - Services Started = 17

Ill defo be putting this on my system!

I am using Tiny XP rev 009 on my cab and no driver or DLL issues or issues with VP other than a little lag on some tables but that seems to be consistent with everyone here despite what version of XP they have installed except for H4CK3R, chriz99 and Iceman of course

Well this thread was started so that we can help you achieve what has worked for us. If you wish to use a different OS, a Different Driver, or a different set up, thats fine, but don't get upset if it doesn't work.

There is only slight stutter on TOM, and thats due to 180 walls dropping in that table when the captive ball is hit. ( Also that table is soon to see a redo )

Please feel free to post your own set up, once you have everything running without lag.

The Tiny XP thing will be removed, as I have not experienced it, but heard 3 members talk about things not working with it. And once they switched out the OS with a black or full edition those issues went away.

Now this is not meant to be the holy grail of installs, but just a guide to help out. and a easy reference point for all members. If you have something that will help make things easier, or better, please feel free to post up.

I feel ya Hacker.. you are trying to help out the fellow gamer... I will say that my cab with Tiny XP rev 10 runs LAG FREE with the exception of TOM during ball hit and flashing lights.. every other table including Monopoly runs flawless..

now on my machine i have W7 on second partition and its a night and day difference.. Tiny XP 99.2% Flawless... W7 with services disabled is at about 70%... for example Spiderman is choppy as hell with UVP on... but with Tiny XP its smooth..

I was being sarcastic towards the end of my comment if you didn't get the implicit reference in the end

Myself as well as many others appreciate how much you (and chriz) have contributed by sharing all your findings and saving everyone lots of grief. I have tried regular XP, Black, TinyXP, Win7 and Tiny7 before I even started my physical cab and only noticed difference in table performance between XP (all version) and 7. XP was by far much smoother and the reason I stuck with TinyXP in the end was because it installed the fastest from scratch. This was critical especially when you search on the forums at 1am for possible solutions to your problems. So stupid on my part cause I didn't know for the life of me why I couldn't drag my DMD over to the other screens and tried different versions of drivers and in the end all it was VpinMAME monitor set to DEFAULT.

I can also confirm that Tiny XP Beast edition is working for me in a dual monitor setup. So I wouldn't quite rule it out as a working OS. However, my rig has been collecting dust for the past 6 months so maybe things have changed?

The boot up and shutdown for TinyXP is so much faster which is great. I can't wait to see how much faster it will get once my OCZ Vertex SSD arrives and I install it in my cab.

I have found the bootup to be longer with tinyXP since it uses PRO and has all of that user security stuff it has to run at startup.
