Multi-disc Gamecube Games

Is there any way to make Multi-disc Gamecube (or any other system I guess) games work nicely with Hyperspin - so...

Take Baten Kaitos Origins... i currently have 2 entries in my wheel for this game (one for each disc)... I only really want one...

Now, i realise i could remove the second disc from the wheel, but then when i reach the switchover point, how would I load the second game?

Is there any way to combine the discs to provide a seamless experience (given that we now have much larger media available and the Wii plays GC games I wondered if someone may have done this... tho i seem unable to find such a thing), or have people been handling this in some other way?

Thanks!

  • 1 month later...

This is what I did for my Dreamcast games. I'm pretty sure it would work with Gamecube as well.

<game name="D2 (Disc 1)" index="" image="">
    <description>D2 (Disc 1)</description>
    <cloneof />
    <developer>WARP</developer>
    <crc />
    <genre>Survival Horror</genre>
    <year>2000</year>
    <rating>ESRB - M (Mature)</rating>
    <enabled>Yes</enabled>
  </game>
  <!--<game name="D2 (Disc 2)" index="" image="">
    <description>D2 (Disc 2)</description>
    <cloneof />
    <developer>WARP</developer>
    <crc />
    <genre>Survival Horror</genre>
    <year>2000</year>
    <rating>ESRB - M (Mature)</rating>
    <enabled>Yes</enabled>
  </game>
  <game name="D2 (Disc 3)" index="" image="">
    <description>D2 (Disc 3)</description>
    <cloneof />
    <developer>WARP</developer>
    <crc />
    <genre>Survival Horror</genre>
    <year>2000</year>
    <rating>ESRB - M (Mature)</rating>
    <enabled>Yes</enabled>
  </game>
  <game name="D2 (Disc 4)" index="" image="">
    <description>D2 (Disc 4)</description>
    <cloneof />
    <developer>WARP</developer>
    <crc />
    <genre>Survival Horror</genre>
    <year>2000</year>
    <rating>ESRB - M (Mature)</rating>
    <enabled>Yes</enabled>
  </game>
  --><game name="Dead or Alive 2" index="" image="">
    <description>Dead or Alive 2</description>
    <cloneof />
    <developer>Team Ninja</developer>
    <crc />
    <genre>Fighting</genre>
    <year>2000</year>
    <rating>ESRB - T (Teen)</rating>
    <enabled>Yes</enabled>
  </game>

Note the <!-- at the beginning of the 2nd disc and the --> at the beginning of the very next game (Dead or Alive 2 in this case)

I found this trick in a Database in the downloads section of this site.

Sorry for the late reply, I literally just found this, hopefully it helps some people.
