Launching Hyperspin from Steam Big Picture

Hey guys, having a bit of an issue launching Hyperspin for some reason.

I'm using a custom shortcut in steam for booting it up, as I'm currently using NVidia's gamestream to stream my steam library to my TV with a Raspberry Pi.

However, the issue is that I can't get Hyperspin to actually launch from Steam Big Picture mode. It will work every now and then, though I can't say why, and it will always work when not in big picture mode. However Moonlight on a Raspberry Pi won't allow you to stream anything but Steam, and in big picture mode. The times that it has launched, it has worked perfectly...

Any ideas? Am I doing something stupid?

Cheers!

Hi, maybe we should exchange our knowledge because i have no problem with streaming Hyperspin through Moonlight to Raspberry Pi 2, but i can't get my xbox360 controllers to work, completely no reaction.

My ideas for your problem:

- Check your task manager. Sometimes even if you close applications related to Hyperspin such as HyperspinHQ or RocketLanucher, processes corresponding with them might still work and hanging other instances of Hyperspin. Kill every Hyper... process, then try again.

- When you start your Hyperspin in Steam Big Picture Mode, go to your PC and check if your system allowed it to be launched. By default (at least for me), when i was trying to open Hyperspin.exe, system asked me first if i really want to launch it. This window does not appear on the tv screen, so it looks like nothing happens.

- If you can't get it to work this way, you always can launch Hyperspin directly, without Steam. Just add it to the list of the games in nVidia GeForce Experience. Go to Preferences, choose SHIELD tab and click plus button to add .exe file. After that you can check what name you should use while running Moonlight by "moonlight list" in terminal. It's "HyperSpin" for me, so i thing it will be the same for you.

If think that i had simmilar issue with Dark Souls 2 - when i tried to launch it, Steam UI goes off for a second and went back, nothing more. Problem was solved by relloging to Steam. Rebooting your PC might be usefull too.

Check it out and write if some of these helped.

Now, my problem:

I'm using Windows 7, HyperSpin 1.4 + RocketLauncher and latest nVidia drivers on the host side and latest Raspbian (without desktop starting), Moonlight and xboxdrv drivers for controllers on Raspberry. I have no problem with controlling normal PC games with xbox360 controllers, both Steam and non-Steam and even with multiple controllers. I'm detaching xpad drivers and loading xboxdrv on startup, correct LEDs lit up. I enabled both joysticks in HyperHQ and that's the only thing that i changed in HyperHQ and RocketLauncherUI it terms of controlls. When i use my pad connected to the host PC, i can controll HyperSpin with no problem.

Yes, I'm having this same issue with using gamestream via an nvidia shield console. HS wont recognize the controller at all.

Has there been any resolve here with using Shield controllers with Hyperspin via moonlight or NVidea GameStream?

I have been able to use Shield controllers to control hypserspin, no real issues; however, I am not able to launch a game or use the controls in the emulators at all.

Hoping for some clarity or help here, cant find anything on the web to fix this!
