Unfortunately we had to take download section back offline temporarily. We should have it working normally soon.

Some games wont launch in Hyperspin but play in emulator.

I posted in Support as well but was suggested that I try here b/c of the experience with Android, maybe if I knew where to find the logs I can fix this.

Hello,

I hate to start a new post about this afte reading so many people with similar issues. I did the most troubleshooting I could do on my own and it really helped me learn how to navigate HS and how it works. I even tried unzipping and it did the same thing.

I am still relatively new to HS and expecially new to the Android setups that I am workingon.

Hyperspin 1.4
Retroarch 1.3.0
cores/bsnes_mercury_performance_libretro_android.so

I would post the log but I cannot find on Android where the logs if any are saved.

For this particular situation I will use Final Fight (USA).zip as my examlpe, Final Fight 2 (USA) and Final Fight 3 (USA) both play but when I select Final Fight (USA) from the Hyperspin wheel it goes to a black screen for a second then backs out to the wheel screen.

As I stated above this ROM has no issues when I load it manually through Retroarch. I have a handful of other games that are functioning like this as well, Mortal Kombats for example. I have checked and checked and discount double checked the XML and name of ROMs, all the artwork downloaded successfully through HyperSync as well.

I have read this is the first place to look and it is really stumping me that I either have fried my brain from putting in so many hours on this or I am just missing something. Can someone please help me make the connection here.

Thanks,

Unzip it, and make sure the name matches the (XML). If that fails, edit a copy of an (.ini) setting file from a system that's working. And also change the menu driver to (rgui) :)

I have tried it unzipped, I have check a dozen times to make sure the spelling in XML matches the ROM (it doesn't say missing rom when clicked as if it didnt find it), other games in the same wheel play fine, I will try to change the GUI.

Any other suggestions ?

Do you know where the logs are in android hypersin ?

Have you tried a different SNES core??? I use Snes9xNext :) Also did you put in the rom extension of the unzipped ROMs in the setting's (.ini), and make sure you didn't put a space at the end of the (exe) or (parameters), I've done that myself a few times when copy and pasting :/

rompath=Emulators/Super Nintendo Entertainment System/roms/

userompath=true

exe=com.retroarch/com.retroarch.browser.retroactivity.RetroActivityFuture

romextension=zip,sfc

parameters=cores/bsnes_mercury_performance_libretro_android.so

I tried sfc,zip and zip,sfc

I have not tried another core b/c so many other games work fine with this core in Hyperspin, which core is used make a difference in Hyperspin ?

Testing another core will help you isolate the problem...  If the rom isn't found, you should see a toast message.   It does sound like the Retroarch core might be crashing.

I will certainly try another core and report back, I just didnt know that there might be issues with some cores only playing certain roms in HS when the core works outside of HS.

And yes I am not getting the message saying ROM not found, do you know where the logs are saved on Android ?

I am not rooted and prefer not to be unless I absolutely need to.

Just wanted to update this, I changed to this Snes9xNext core and all the games load from HS as they should.

Thank You !
