Open GL works fine in MAMEuifx but through rocket launcher blank screen

Hi All,

I have setup mame and hyperspin on my main computer and it works a treat!

I am in the process of building my first arcade cabinet, the cabinet is built so i recently purchased a second hand desktop to go inside.

The main difference between this desktop and my main PC is that his desktop only has onboard graphics. Originally through MAMEuifx when I tried to run a game I would be able to hear it but have a blank screen.

I resolved this by changing the video mode to OpenGL - works fine.

But when I try loading a game through rocketlauncherui it reverts back to the blank screen with sound.

Can anybody shed some light on this for me please?.?

One other issue which is unrelated to the topic is since I have copied the files over from my main computer over to the cabinet pc, now when I scroll through the emulator list to mame a click on it, hyperspin immediately reverts back to the emulator wheel and will not list all the games within.

Whereas if I click on any other system that I have not setup yet, I do get the list of roms but no art work (obviously).

I know the rom path is correct but there must be some other path not yet defined I would imagine??

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Hi Guys,

I did not have any speakers plugged in, I now do and that didnt make any difference.

Sorry I cant seem to find roms only filter option anywhere you mention, I am using rocketlauncherUI and have gone through all the settings from the system that works to the system that does not and I still have the issue.

I did look at HyperHQ to no avail.

All the setting I believe are now the same except the rom path "due to different location on each computer".

I have also checked the file extensions and they are exactly the same as the existing working system??

You need to make sure that you have the Videomode set to opengl in the module settings for MAME in RLUI, by default it's set to d3d. On the topic of d3d, if d3d isn't working make sure that you have DirectX9 installed even if you have later versions of DirectX as they're not cumulative and MAME needs DX9.

In RLUI select MAME from the system list, select the Modules tab, click the MAME module and press the Edit Global Module Settings button on the toolbar. That will open the module settings for the MAME module and the Videomode option will be in there.

Perfect solution. Thanks mate.
