Unfortunately we had to take download section back offline temporarily. We should have it working normally soon.

How can I add a homebrew Virtual Boy title?

Hopefully I'm in the right section on the forum for this. If not, I apologize and feel free to move this topic.

I found a few vb homebrew project roms over at planetvb.com and I would like to add them into my hyperspin wheel. I tried using Don's list generator, but the games didn't show up. I assume it's because they are new and might not be on the list. Any help would be appreciated.

I've never played with Vboy stuff, but if it's like the other systems you might just need to manually add them to the database.

Try going to Hyperspin/databases/Vboy (or whatever it's called). There should be an XML database file there. Right click it and select Open from the list. Look through the database and if the game you want to add isn't there then just add it following the format the other games use. Probably easier to copy one of the existing games and change the information to the one you're adding.

Then again maybe this won't work for homebrew stuff. Maybe there's something else you need to do.

Good luck.

Fantastic guys! It was that easy. I know the Virtual Boy was unpopular due to giving everyone a migraine after 10 minutes, but on sidebyside 3D on a 3D television it looks great and I'm migraine free! I even changed it back to the red color to give it an authentic feel. Just tried out a HB Mario Kart Virtual Cup and it's pretty impressive for a non licensed game! I recommend giving it a go if you want to play around with a fun novelty system.

I'm using Mednafen as the emulator and I can post the settings I use if anyone is interested.

Thanks again!

I'm planning on adding it at some point so I'd like to see how you set it up.
